iPLATO named as finalist at Cogora General Practice Awards 2024

We’re thrilled to have been named as a finalist in the Cogora General Practice Awards 2024. Recognised for its transformative approach to patient engagement, iPLATO secured nominations in both Digital Solution of the Year and Telecoms Provider of the Year categories. With the award ceremony held earlier this month, iPLATO was proud to be a finalist among such an innovative group of companies. While we didn’t take home the win, we’re proud to have been recognised alongside industry leaders.

The entry focused on iPLATO’s innovative pilot project with South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB), which introduced appointment reminders via the NHS App. This solution aimed to reduce the significant costs of traditional SMS-based reminders while enhancing patient engagement. Through the NHS App’s direct communication channel, iPLATO’s solution achieved a remarkable 95% increase in read rates, substantially reducing patient messaging expenses and demonstrating a sustainable model for patient outreach across the NHS.

In England during 2021-22, 7.6% of the 103 million booked outpatient appointments resulted in a “Did Not Attend” (DNA), equating to around 650,000 missed appointments each month (NHS England, 2023). These missed appointments lead to significant time and financial losses for both the NHS and GPs. iPLATO’s appointment reminders are a cost effective, and convenient way to tackle the issue of missed appointments.

Adam Faucheux, Field CEO of iPLATO, commented on the entry:

“We are delighted to be recognised at this year’s Cogora General Practice Awards. Our team is committed to finding new ways to enhance patient care and create value for healthcare providers. This nomination celebrates our collaboration with South East London ICB, which is setting a new standard for efficient and cost-effective patient communication in primary care.”
