Celebrating a community of 3 million users on the myGP app

We’re excited to share a major milestone for iPLATO’s myGP app: reaching a community of 3 million users! This achievement is a huge step forward in our goal to improve healthcare accessibility and efficiency across the UK.

To celebrate reaching this huge milestone number, we decided to take a look at the other milestones the myGP app community has achieved!

Leading on appointment management

Our community have booked over 1.1 million appointments in the myGP app to see their GP, or other healthcare providers. We are excited to be working on expanding the appointments available to help our users.

Missed appointments are huge waste of resource for the NHS. Across 2023, iPLATO proudly freed up 560,000 minutes a month from cancelled appointments which could be reallocated within practices. This equated to over 9,333 hours per month being handed back to practices to utilise for other patients.

Supporting people on repeat prescriptions

Over 12 million repeat medicine orders have been placed within the myGP app. Users can choose from free home delivery, click and collect, and multiple medicine packing options with partners including PillTime, Lloyds Direct, and Pharmacy2U.

Helping to combat the staggering £930 million annual non-adherence cost for the NHS, the myGP app provides an easy tracking tool with built in reminders, alerts and adherence graphs which users can helpfully export.

Interestingly, High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol medicine represents 57% of the top 5 medications tracked by our app community.

Checking your skin health

myGP users are now using Autoderm’s AI skin checker, quickly and anonymously assesses skin concerns. The tool presents a list of the top five most likely skin conditions. This includes visual images, symptoms, treatment options, and advice on whether a doctor’s consultation is necessary.

The feature boasts accuracy comparable to GPs and, for many conditions, aligns with the diagnostic performance of a dermatologist. Since its launch last year, more than 330,000 users have benefited from this cutting-edge technology.

Checking your blood pressure

Users can check their blood pressure on their smartphones, from the comfort of their home. Lifelight’s remote vital signs technology is now helping 3 million myGP app users to check their blood pressure.

Every month, thousands of people are using the easily accessible tool – no uncomfortable cuff, no need to undress, no wearables – users simply look at their smartphone screen for 40 seconds. Saved automatically within the app, users are managing their health more easily.

Tobias Alpsten, Founder and CEO of iPLATO commented
“The significance of reaching 3 million users is not lost on us and we will continue advancing ways our community can take control of their own health. Thank you to everyone who is part of our incredible community. Here’s to the next million!”
